On a wooded hill, discover the habitats of red pandas, polar bears, gibbons and other rare animal species. There’s also plenty to delight plant lovers: 3,500 varieties and nine thematic gardens.

To visit the entire park, allow between 3 hours and a full day.

Located a few minutes from the city centre, the Zoological and Botanical Park covers 25 hectares and is home to more than 1,200 animals of 170 different species and 3,500 species and varieties of plants in an exceptional natural setting. It is a real place for walking and observing the flora and fauna. The Park has been awarded the national label "Remarkable Garden" thanks to the richness of its botanical collections. Colours and scents unfold in these gardens, changing with the seasons. The Zoological and Botanical Park is also committed to the preservation of biodiversity and has been involved for more than 30 years in the protection of endangered animal and plant species within the framework of international programmes.

The Zoological and Botanical Park is open every day of the year, including public holidays. Opening times vary according to the season.

January-February-December: 10am-4pm

March-October-November: 9am-5pm

April-September: 9am-6pm

May-June-July-August: 9am-7pm

Zoological and Botanical Garden in Mulhouse

The Mulhouse Zoological and Botanical Park is one of the oldest zoos in France. Born in 1868, the Mulhouse Zoological and Botanical Park celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2018. When it was created, the horticulturist GEIGER Père was entrusted with the layout of the areas (earth movements, paths, fences) and the planting. Between 1873 and 1882, a botanical garden was created. From 1885, the tree and shrub species were labelled. In more than a century, it has grown, evolved, been abandoned and succeeded...
