FreeAlsace is always recognized as a land of music that continues to live at the rhythm of its ensembles today. This cultural exception is felt both in the professional sphere of so-called scholarly music but especially in the world of amateur music. There are no more choirs, harmonies, vocal ensembles and specialized instrumentals that make our territory rich and participate in the perpetuation of many traditions. This exhibition is both a tribute to this amateur musical world sometimes denigrated by questioning its origins and ambitions then. But it is above all an opportunity to highlight the great diversity and the ever-present dynamism of these practices inherited from the history of Alsace and resolutely oriented towards the future.
