Biodiversity. The animals of the city
From 19 Sept 2025 to 23 May 2027
Autour des animaux
Exposition temporaire
From September 19, 2025 to May 23, 2027: The newly renovated Zoological Museum devotes its first temporary exhibition, "BiodiverCité", to the animals of the city. Designed as a walk, rhythmic by the naturalistic illustrator Valentine Plessy's drawings, the exhibition questions the modalities of coexistence between human and non-human city dwellers at the time of environmental crises. Is the city an ecosystem like any other? While almost 80% of the French population today lives in urban units, they often remain in our imaginations of non-nature spaces. Yet animal species of all sizes and origins live alongside us on a daily basis. By looking at this nearby biodiversity, the exhibition reaffirms the need to think about the continuity of our relationships in life.
