Natural history and ethnography museum
At the heart of the Little Venice district, in a beautiful historic building, the Colmar Museum of Natural History and Ethnography presents rich collections of regional and exotic naturalized animals, the geology of the planet with precious minerals. extraordinary fossils of prehistoric animals found in the region, rare ethnographic objects of the Marquesas Islands, China, Latin America, Africa and an important collection of ancient Egypt (mummies, Coptic fabrics ...), the only visible in Alsace.

Dinosaurs: prey and predators

FreeThe exhibition presents a variety of fossils, skeletal casts and artists' views that illustrate the relationships between these species as well as the defence mechanisms of prey against their often oversized predators. Guided tours, lectures, palaeontological excavations, fossil excavation workshop.

The configuration of the building and the spaces does not allow the use of pushchairs. Pushchairs must be left parked outside in the museum courtyard, to the right of the entrance. Pushchairs, folded only, may be left inside, at the foot of the stairs along the wall, except in the area occupied by schoolchildren. Similarly, electric scooters are not allowed inside the museum, even in the car park. Non-electric scooters are tolerated, folded and left at the foot of the stairs.
The museum accepts no responsibility for theft or damage to your belongings.

TWO ENTRANCES: via the gate at 11 rue Turenne or via the gate at Quai de la Poissonnerie, in the Petite Venise district. Please note that this entrance is closed for the duration of the "Dinosaurs, prey and predators" exhibition, until May 2024.
